Sizing

What is my ringsize?

There are several ways to measure your ring size. In the webshop I use the circumference of the finger, the inner circumference of the ring, to measure the size. It is measured in millimeters. This is the European way of measuring ring sizes.

There are some ways to measure your ring size yourself. But the most ideal is to have your size measured at a jeweler, or in my workshop, where I use a ring sizer, which you can fit and choose which is the most comfortable. A ring should not be too tight, but it should also not be too loose or it might get damaged or lost.

How to measure:

  • Diameter in mm:
You can easily measure this by measuring the inner diameter of a well fitting ring. In the chart on the right you can convert this to European or American sizes.

  • Circumference in mm:
By wrapping a piece of paper loosely around your finger, you can determine the size. Where the ends overlap, draw a line. Then you measure the length of the strip.

  • American size:
This is used less often in Belgium. It is best to look at the size chart to calculate what your size is. These sizes are often used on a ring measure stick or ring sizer.

Bracelet sizes can also be measured. This is best done by placing a tape measure (or a piece of paper/ribbon) loosely around your wrist. Bracelet sizes are usually shown in mm or cm. This is the inner diameter or length of the bracelet.

    Custom work

Can I have a jewel made to measurements?

This is definitely possible. Make an appointment or email me so we can work out your idea together. For custom orders, a deposit of 50% has to be paid before I start with your piece.

Can I contact you to sell my old gold?

I don't buy gold from individuals. I advice you to go to a regular jeweler or metal refinery to test gold and diamonds to sell them. I focus on jewelry design so I can transform your old gold jewelry or heirlooms into something new. You can always email or call me for this (please leave a message when I'm absent).

    What are your opening hours?

Since I do not have a physical store and have an additional job, there are no fixed opening hours. If you want to come by to discuss an idea, try on a jewelry piece or buy it, it is best to make an appointment by calling, texting or emailing.

Do you make custom drawings or tattoodesigns?

Yes I do, contact me for more information.

    Storing silver jewelry

My silver jewel is getting black and dirty. Is my jewel real silver?

When silver comes in contact with air, it starts to oxidize. This is a natural process and therefore quite normal. The typical oxidation of silver just shows that your jewelry is real silver.
It is advisable to keep jewelry in a closed box or bag. Plastic resealable bags are ideal. Leaving your jewelry on the windowsill or in the bathroom will make it look dull and black faster.
With a soft toothbrush and some soft detergent in warm water you can clean your jewelry again. Note: only do this for jewelry without stones. Some (semi) precious stones (in particular pearls and opal) do not tolerate detergents.
Cleaning cloths are also a solution. Cleaning cloths are handy anyway to make your jewel shiny again. It can polish your jewelry piece. Jewelry baths (without gems) are also possible to clean them. Some people's sweat reacts more violently with silver. Medicines are often the cause of this. It is therefore possible that your jewelry will turn black faster. Regular cleaning is the solution in this case. Also avoid perfume, chlorine, and sulfide on your jewelry. These agents are known to blacken silver very quickly.

    Materials

How and where are the jewelry pieces made?

All the jewelry pieces are manufactured in Natascha's workshop in Belgium by hand.

The jewelry pieces are made of high quality precious metals. The silver jewelry pieces are made of sterling silver, also known as 925 silver. This is the most commonly used alloy of silver, also called first grade silver. This means that 92.5% of the alloy is silver and the other 7.5% is copper. There are different carats for gold jewelry. The most commonly used are 18k and 14k. Jewelry in gold is only custom made. I have no stock of gold jewelry. The (semi) precious stones I use come from all over the world.
